Applying and Negotiating for Job Posts
One of the ways Sellers can make money on OddJobs is through applying for Job Posts, which are specific requests made by Buyers on the Explore Page.
But, not all Posts might match what you think would be fair value for your services – and you might even want to offer better value for a service your potential customer isnโt aware of! Here weโll outline how you can do that.ย

How do I know which Job Posts to apply for?
Job Posts are split into categories, and the Buyer will also usually list out a set of requirements and description of what they need done.
As a Seller, you can filter out Job Posts based on categories that best suit your abilities. For example, if youโre a marketer or graphics designer, you might want to look through the Business or Design categories.
How do I apply for a Job Post?
Go to โExploreโ on the top navigation bar
Browse for a Job Post
Click โApplyโ to a Job Post you think suits your skills. Alternatively, you can also click the title of the Job Post to view their main Job Post page for more details.
Optional: If you would like to propose a different date of completion, enter your alternative in the โDate and Timeโ box. We recommend entering one which is closest to Buyerโs set date to have a better chance of success.
Optional: If you would like to propose a different budget, enter your alternative amount in the โBudgetโ box. Once again, itโs best to stay as close as possible to the Buyerโs number.
Optional: Enter a description of why you think youโd be best. Try to describe your experience and skills as much as possible!
Optional: Upload files to prove your ability. The closer it is to the job, the better. This helps give confidence to the Buyer when choosing you.
Once youโre done, click โApplyโ.
Tip: Most Buyers will check each of the applicantโs Sellers profiles, so make sure yours is done well or edited to best suit what youโre applying for.
How many Job Posts can I apply for?
You can apply for as many Job Posts as you like! Though keep in mind that quality applications are far better than the quantity of applications, itโll save you a lot of time and hassle!
Iโve already applied, what do I do now?
All thatโs left to do now is wait! Youโll be notified if your application was successful or not.
Further Negotiations
Interested Buyers might want to contact you directly in your Inbox if they want to learn more about you or to further negotiate different terms.
Once you and the Buyer have fully broken down the finer details, confirming the negotiation can go in two ways:
Seller Reapplication. You would resend an application on the same Job Post with the details that you and the Buyer agreed upon directly.
Buyer Repost. The Buyer can alternatively repost a new Job Post which you can apply for with whatever details were agreed upon directly.
